Myers welcomed Bush into New Jersey with open arms - as the nation sits in the very eye of an economic hurricane. Myers side with George W. Bush and the corporate elite who triggered this crisis, not our middle-class taxpayers who are being forced to pay for it.
Just four short years ago, we had a chance to escape the Bush Administration's legacy of failure. Instead, Myers fought to ensure the
re-election of the worst Presidential team in history, campaigning with Dick Cheney in 2004.

New Jersey’s unemployment rate hit a five-year high of 5.9% last month. But that’s not a problem to
Myers and his super-rich friends. Unbelievably, he told a radio audience “the economy is basically
strong.” He’s more out-of-touch than Bush!

With gas prices approaching $4 a gallon, Myers’ solution is to continue Bush’s subsidies for big oil
companies totaling more than $17 billion, even while they’re pocketing record windfall profits.
Between all the tax breaks for companies shipping jobs overseas and the billions more given away to
big oil companies, there’s nothing left for us.

New Jersey families are being squeezed by rising gas prices, skyrocketing property tax bills and
weakening job security—while two-thirds of U.S. corporations paid no federal income taxes between
1998 and 2005. Myers’ solution? More tax breaks for big businesses and the super-rich!

Cut Plan,” Chris Myers for Congress, www.chrismyersforcongress.com)
We’re spending about $12 billion per month in Iraq, and the total keeps growing. In fact, taxpayers in New Jersey will pay
$30 billion for total Iraq war spending approved to date. But Myers doesn’t care how much we spend in Iraq. He has no
plan to honorably bring our troops home, and still insists the invasion was the right thing to do. In fact, he says the U.S.
can’t leave until we can make it “look like we’ve won.”

Myers has given $17,000 to George Bush and other Republican candidates and committees since 2002. Even with all
Bush has done to our economy at home and our national security abroad – Myers is still willing to take his campaign
cash. Bush came to New Jersey to personally help get Myers elected – that says it all.
